A life shaped by purpose
My Story
I was born on 7 April 1995 in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. My life journey has been shaped by love, challenges, perseverance, faith, and an enduring desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I am the daughter of the late Mr. Atom Michael Aor and Mrs. Victoria Mfanyô Atom. I lost my father, the family breadwinner, at a very young age. Life became difficult, but those circumstances taught me that difficult moments do not have to determine the person we become.
My Marital Life
I am married to Mr. Msugh Ortserga, a civil servant with the Benue State Government. Our marriage is blessed with a male child.
My Education
My educational journey began at Faith Nursery and Primary School. I later attended Malamin Secondary School, Gboko. My desire to learn did not end with secondary school—I proceeded to the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna, and later attended the National Open University of Nigeria. Education has helped me develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to serve others and pursue my dreams.
My Career & Service
Today, I work as a Medical Social Worker at the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, Benue State. My profession gives me the opportunity to interact with people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Through my work, I understand that people need more than physical care—sometimes they need someone to listen, encourage, support, and remind them that there is still hope. Helping people is not only a profession, but also a responsibility and a privilege.
Challenges, Strength & Growth
Losing my father early and experiencing the difficulties that followed could have broken my spirit. Instead, those experiences became part of the foundation upon which I continue to build my life. I have learned to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow, and I have learned the importance of perseverance, compassion, self-belief, and determination. I am still becoming the woman I desire to be, and I am proud of the woman I am becoming.
My Dreams & Vision
One of my greatest dreams is to live a life dedicated to helping people who are genuinely in need. I want to give hope to the hopeless, support the vulnerable, empower people to become stronger, and contribute positively to my community. This dream is reflected in my vision for TWBLAF: a platform through which women, families, young people, and vulnerable members of society can receive support, acquire skills, become empowered, and build better lives.
The Woman I Am Becoming
When I look back at where I started and consider everything I have experienced, I am grateful for the journey. I am proud of the woman I am becoming—not because my journey has been perfect, but because I have continued to rise despite the challenges. I do not want my life to be measured only by what I achieve for myself. I want it remembered by the lives I helped, the people I encouraged, the hope I restored, and the positive difference I made.
